Each year the Yungchen Lhamo Foundation undertakes a project to help Tibetans in need of basic resources for survival. Last year, with kind help from your donations, we were able to provide more than 1500 pairs of shoes
to underprivileged Tibetan children and teenagers.
Our mission for 2011 concerns a basic human need: water. We are actively raising money for the construction of an aqueduct in the remote Tibetan Village of Nugchu. Currently, the people of Nugchu must travel at least an hour in each direction to get water, not only for the approximately 600 inhabitants of the village, but for their livestock as well.
Winter brings even more sacrifice and challenge: when their pond freezes the villagers have to walk at least one hour into the furthest mountains to get melted snow, or chop and carry frozen ice for 25 minutes.
Yungchen Lhamo is dedicated to bringing that which we take for granted to the villagers of Nugchu. Your donation to this effort would be greatly appreciated.
